Part 1 of 3: preparing your fostering service for Cultural Compass Mark™ accreditation

This is Part 1 of a three-part series for leaders, managers and staff of fostering services preparing for Cultural Compass Mark™ accreditation. It explains how accreditation works and covers the first five principles.

This interactive e-learning course has 5 short modules:

• Module 1: Recruitment Practices
• Module 2: Policies and Procedures
• Module 3: Support for Carers
• Module 4: Child Placement Practices
• Module 5: Community Engagement

It includes narration, practical scenarios and a final quiz of 12 questions (80% pass mark). You can learn at your own pace on any device, and you'll receive a certificate when you complete the course.

• Explain what the Cultural Compass Mark™ is and how accreditation works
• Name all fifteen principles and where each is covered in the series
• Describe what good recruitment systems look like for Principle 01
• Review policies, procedures and carer support against Principles 02 and 03
• Strengthen child placement and community engagement for Principles 04 and 05
• Identify evidence your service could gather for each of the first five principles
